CoParent IQ™ Terms of Use
Effective Date: September 1, 2026 · Last Updated: September 1, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) and Valor Legal & Family Court Services, LLC, a California limited liability company doing business through the CoParent IQ™ platform (“Valor,” “CoParent IQ,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
These Terms govern your access to and use of the CoParent IQ mobile application, website, software, artificial-intelligence features, communications systems, document-storage functions, professional portals, subscription services, and all related services and features (collectively, the “Platform”).
CoParent IQ™ is a product of Valor Legal & Family Court Services, LLC.
By creating an account, clicking or selecting “I Agree,” “Accept,” “Create Account,” “Subscribe,” or a substantially similar affirmative acceptance mechanism, or by otherwise using the Platform after being presented with these Terms, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and the CoParent IQ Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, you may not create an account or use the Platform.
1. Eligibility
CoParent IQ accounts are intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement.
The Platform may be used by parents, legal guardians, caregivers, attorneys, mediators, therapists, social workers, parenting professionals, supervised-visitation providers, and other authorized adult users.
Children may be subjects of information maintained within an adult-managed family account. Unless CoParent IQ expressly introduces a separate minor-access feature governed by additional consent and privacy procedures, minors may not independently establish CoParent IQ accounts.
You represent that you have lawful authority to provide information you submit concerning yourself, your children, another parent, or another person.
2. Purpose of CoParent IQ
CoParent IQ is a technology platform designed to assist families with communication, organization, scheduling, documentation, education, resource identification, custody-order organization, expense tracking, parenting exchanges, and other co-parenting functions.
CoParent IQ is not a law firm. CoParent IQ does not provide legal representation through the Platform.
Use of CoParent IQ does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Valor, CoParent IQ, its owners, employees, developers, contractors, affiliates, or professionals appearing through the Platform.
CoParent IQ is also not a medical provider, mental-health provider, emergency service, law-enforcement agency, court, child protective agency, or governmental entity.
3. No Legal Advice
Information provided through CoParent IQ is provided for technological, organizational, informational, and educational purposes.
Nothing provided by CoParent IQ constitutes individualized legal advice.
CoParent IQ does not determine your legal rights, interpret the law on your behalf, predict judicial decisions, or tell you what legal action you should take.
Users requiring legal advice should consult a licensed attorney in the appropriate jurisdiction.
4. Artificial Intelligence and Ask IQ
The Platform may contain artificial-intelligence and automated features, including Ask IQ, custody-order interpretation, communication analysis, conflict detection, suggested message rewrites, document summaries, schedule extraction, educational explanations, report generation, and other AI-assisted functionality.
AI-generated information can be incorrect. AI systems may misunderstand language, overlook information, incorrectly extract dates, misinterpret documents, or generate incomplete or inaccurate responses. Accordingly:
- AI output is not legal advice.
- AI output is not a court order.
- AI output is not a judicial determination.
- AI output is not medical or mental-health advice.
Users are responsible for reviewing important information before relying upon it. CoParent IQ does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, legal effect, admissibility, or suitability of AI-generated content.
5. Custody Order Interpreter
Users may upload custody orders, parenting plans, judgments, stipulations, agreements, or other court documents.
CoParent IQ may attempt to extract or explain information concerning parenting schedules, holidays, exchanges, transportation, decision-making authority, travel, expenses, Right of First Refusal provisions, vacation periods, and other provisions.
The original court-filed document always controls. CoParent IQ does not alter, amend, supersede, or replace a court order.
If information generated by CoParent IQ conflicts with the original order, the original order controls.
CoParent IQ cannot guarantee how a judge, attorney, mediator, law-enforcement officer, or other professional will interpret a particular provision.
6. User Responsibility
Users are responsible for information they enter into the Platform.
You agree not to knowingly submit false, fraudulent, manipulated, misleading, or unlawfully obtained information.
CoParent IQ does not independently verify every statement made by a user.
A timestamp, GPS entry, uploaded photograph, user-created record, or other Platform entry does not establish that the underlying user-provided information is true.
7. Accounts and Security
You are responsible for protecting your login credentials and devices. You may not permit an unauthorized person to access your account.
You may not:
- impersonate another person;
- obtain unauthorized access to another user's account;
- circumvent authentication or security controls;
- attempt to access another family's information;
- interfere with Platform security;
- introduce malware or malicious code; or
- exploit vulnerabilities in the Platform.
Suspected unauthorized access should be reported promptly to CoParent IQ.
8. Family and Professional Access
Information associated with a family account may be accessible only to users who have appropriate permissions.
Professionals do not automatically receive access to family information.
Attorneys, mediators, therapists, parenting coordinators, supervised-visitation providers, or other professionals may receive access only through authorized Platform functionality or another lawful basis.
Users are responsible for ensuring that they have authority to provide another person access to information.
9. Messaging and Immutable Records
Certain CoParent IQ functions are intentionally designed to maintain permanent or auditable records. Where a feature is designated as immutable:
- original messages cannot ordinarily be edited;
- original messages cannot ordinarily be unsent;
- original records cannot ordinarily be altered;
- corrections may be entered as subsequent records;
- timestamps may be preserved; and
- audit information may be maintained.
Users should assume that communications transmitted through these functions may become permanent records.
CoParent IQ may retain certain information where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance, record integrity, or other purposes described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Exchange Tracker and Location Information
CoParent IQ may process location information when a user voluntarily activates location-dependent features such as custody-exchange check-in or check-out. Depending upon the feature, this information may include precise geolocation. Location information may assist with documentation but does not independently prove legal compliance with a custody order or establish that another individual was present. Users may not use CoParent IQ to unlawfully:
- stalk;
- surveil;
- harass;
- intimidate;
- threaten; or
- track another person.
Users are responsible for complying with applicable privacy and location-tracking laws. California's privacy framework treats precise geolocation and certain other categories of information as particularly sensitive, which is one reason the separate Privacy Policy and in-app disclosures are important.
11. Photos, Videos and Audio Recordings
CoParent IQ may permit users to upload photographs, video, audio, documents, and other media.
Users are solely responsible for determining whether creating, possessing, uploading, storing, or sharing such content is lawful.
CoParent IQ does not authorize or encourage unlawful recording or surveillance.
Recording-consent laws vary by jurisdiction. Users must comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws before recording another person.
12. Evidence Vault
CoParent IQ may provide tools for organizing documents, photographs, communications, receipts, recordings, school records, medical information, exchange records, or other materials.
The term “Evidence Vault” describes a technology and organizational feature. It does not mean that uploaded material automatically qualifies as legally admissible evidence.
CoParent IQ does not guarantee that a court will authenticate, admit, accept, rely upon, or give weight to any record.
13. Court Reports and Exports
The Platform may generate reports or exports based upon information stored in a user's account.
Reports may be used for personal organization or shared with attorneys, mediators, courts, or other professionals at the user's discretion and subject to applicable law.
CoParent IQ does not guarantee that a report will be accepted or admitted by a court.
Users should review generated reports for accuracy before sharing them.
14. Children's Information
CoParent IQ is designed for adult account holders but may necessarily process information concerning children because the Platform assists with co-parenting.
Such information may include scheduling, education, activities, medical information, appointments, expenses, custody information, photographs, wellness information, and related family information.
Adult users represent that they have a lawful basis for providing children's information to the Platform.
CoParent IQ does not knowingly permit children under 13 to independently create ordinary user accounts.
If CoParent IQ becomes aware that personal information has been collected directly from a child in circumstances prohibited by applicable law, appropriate action will be taken.
The FTC revised COPPA in 2025, including stronger requirements involving children's information, data retention, and certain third-party disclosures, so the adult-account design remains deliberate unless a children's account system is separately developed.
15. Privacy
Use of the Platform is also governed by the CoParent IQ Privacy Policy.
CoParent IQ does not sell users' personal information.
CoParent IQ does not sell private custody documents, family communications, children's records, Evidence Vault content, or family information to advertisers or data brokers.
CoParent IQ does not use private family content for behavioral advertising.
CoParent IQ may disclose information to service providers and contractors reasonably necessary to operate the Platform, including providers supporting hosting, infrastructure, authentication, security, payment processing, communications, storage, customer support, and other technical operations.
Such processing is addressed more specifically in the Privacy Policy.
16. Artificial Intelligence and Private Data
Private custody documents, family communications, children's records, and Evidence Vault content will not knowingly be sold to third parties for training third-party general-purpose AI models.
Where information must be processed by an AI technology provider to provide an AI feature requested by the user, such processing must occur in accordance with CoParent IQ's Privacy Policy and applicable contractual and security controls.
17. Security and Encryption
CoParent IQ will maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect user information.
Data should be appropriately encrypted during transmission and storage.
End-to-end encryption will only be represented as applying to a particular CoParent IQ function when that function has actually been technically implemented using end-to-end encryption.
No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security.
Users acknowledge that unauthorized attacks, software vulnerabilities, device compromise, third-party failures, and circumstances beyond CoParent IQ's reasonable control may occur despite reasonable safeguards.
18. Data Ownership
Users retain ownership of content they lawfully submit.
Users grant Valor a limited, nonexclusive license to host, encrypt, store, transmit, back up, process, display to authorized users, and otherwise technically process their content as reasonably necessary to provide and secure the Platform and comply with applicable law.
This license does not constitute a sale of the user's personal information.
19. Privacy Rights and Account Deletion
CoParent IQ will provide privacy rights and account-management procedures as required by applicable law and as further explained in the Privacy Policy.
A request to delete an account may not necessarily result in immediate deletion of every record.
Information may be retained where permitted or required for legitimate purposes such as security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, financial records, backup integrity, or preservation of immutable records.
The Privacy Policy explains applicable retention practices.
20. Third-Party Services
The Platform may integrate with third-party technology providers or provide links to third-party websites or services.
CoParent IQ is not responsible for the independent practices, availability, content, security, or services of third parties.
Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
21. Resource Directory
CoParent IQ may provide information regarding attorneys, mediators, therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, supervised-visitation providers, legal aid organizations, government agencies, courts, parenting programs, and other resources.
A listing does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee unless expressly stated otherwise.
Users are responsible for independently evaluating a provider.
A “verified” designation, if provided, means only that designated information or credentials were verified according to CoParent IQ's then-current verification process. It does not guarantee quality, results, suitability, or professional performance.
22. Court-Ordered Programs
CoParent IQ may provide information concerning parenting classes, domestic-violence programs, batterer intervention programs, anger-management programs, substance-use programs, supervised visitation, and other services.
CoParent IQ does not guarantee that any program satisfies a particular court order.
Users should verify program acceptance with the appropriate court, attorney, probation officer, supervising agency, or other responsible authority before enrolling or paying.
23. Emergencies
COPARENT IQ IS NOT AN EMERGENCY SERVICE.
CoParent IQ does not continuously monitor communications, uploads, wellness entries, exchange records, or other user information for emergencies.
Do not rely upon the Platform to contact police, emergency medical services, child protective services, or crisis responders.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact appropriate emergency services.
24. Prohibited Use
CoParent IQ may not be used to:
- stalk or unlawfully monitor another person;
- threaten, intimidate, or harass;
- exploit or endanger a child;
- violate a restraining or protective order;
- violate applicable law;
- commit fraud;
- falsify evidence;
- manipulate records;
- impersonate another person;
- unlawfully record another person;
- access another account without authorization;
- compromise Platform security;
- distribute malware;
- interfere with Platform operation; or
- infringe another person's intellectual-property or privacy rights.
Violations may result in suspension or termination.
25. Subscriptions
Certain Platform features may require payment. Before a subscription is purchased, users will be provided with applicable:
- price;
- billing frequency;
- renewal terms;
- trial terms, if any;
- cancellation procedures; and
- other legally required disclosures.
Where a subscription automatically renews, CoParent IQ will obtain legally required affirmative consent.
Users will be able to cancel using legally required cancellation methods.
California's current Automatic Renewal Law requires express affirmative consent and, among other requirements, specific notices for qualifying annual renewals and longer free or discounted trials. Those requirements are implemented in the checkout and cancellation experience, not merely stated here.
Apple App Store or Google Play purchases may additionally be governed by applicable platform billing rules.
26. Refunds
Payments are nonrefundable except where:
- a refund is expressly provided by the applicable subscription offer;
- required by law; or
- required under applicable Apple App Store or Google Play policies.
Cancellation stops future renewal according to the applicable subscription terms but does not automatically create a refund for a previously billed period.
27. Beta and Experimental Features
Beta, preview, experimental, or newly released features may contain errors or experience interruptions.
Users should not rely exclusively upon experimental features to satisfy court deadlines, emergency needs, or other time-sensitive obligations.
CoParent IQ may modify, discontinue, restrict, or replace beta features.
28. Intellectual Property
The Platform's software, interface, designs, branding, proprietary databases, original content, documentation, processes, logos, and other intellectual property belong to Valor or its licensors.
CoParent IQ™, Ask IQ™, and associated branding may constitute trademarks of Valor Legal & Family Court Services, LLC.
Users may not copy, scrape, reverse engineer, reproduce, commercially exploit, redistribute, or create unauthorized derivative works from proprietary Platform technology or content except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
29. Platform Availability
CoParent IQ does not guarantee uninterrupted operation.
Service may be affected by maintenance, updates, cyber incidents, internet outages, hosting failures, software defects, third-party failures, force majeure events, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
30. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COPARENT IQ IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”
Valor does not guarantee that the Platform will always be accurate, uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for a user's particular legal or family circumstances.
Nothing in these Terms eliminates warranties or consumer protections that cannot legally be waived.
31. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, VALOR, COPARENT IQ, AND THEIR OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO USE OF THE PLATFORM.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that applicable law does not permit to be excluded or limited.
32. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, users agree to indemnify and hold Valor and its officers, employees, contractors, and agents harmless from third-party claims resulting from the user's unlawful use of CoParent IQ, violation of these Terms, violation of another person's rights, or unlawful content submitted by the user.
This provision does not require a consumer to indemnify Valor for conduct for which indemnification cannot lawfully be required.
33. Dispute Resolution
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.
A. Informal Resolution. Before commencing arbitration concerning a covered dispute relating to the use, payment, or provision of CoParent IQ, the complaining party must provide written notice describing the dispute and requested resolution. The parties will attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute for at least 30 days following receipt of the notice.
B. Mediation. The parties may mutually agree to attempt confidential mediation before arbitration. Unless otherwise agreed, each party will bear its own attorneys' fees and the mediation costs will be allocated as permitted by applicable law.
C. Individual Binding Arbitration. Except for disputes eligible for small claims court, requests for relief that cannot lawfully be subjected to mandatory arbitration, and other disputes excluded by applicable law, unresolved covered disputes will be resolved through individual binding arbitration administered by a nationally recognized arbitration provider pursuant to applicable consumer arbitration rules. Valor will comply with applicable consumer-arbitration requirements concerning costs and fees.
D. Jury Trial Waiver. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AND VALOR WAIVE THE RIGHT TO HAVE A COVERED DISPUTE SUBJECT TO ARBITRATION DECIDED BY A JURY.
E. Class Action Waiver. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COVERED DISPUTES SUBJECT TO ARBITRATION WILL BE RESOLVED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT AS A CLASS, COLLECTIVE, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. If applicable law prohibits enforcement of a particular waiver, that provision will be treated in accordance with applicable law.
F. Court Relief. Nothing in these Terms prevents a party from requesting emergency or provisional judicial relief when such relief is legally available or from pursuing a qualifying matter in small claims court.
34. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable federal law and, where legally permissible, the laws of the State of California.
Nothing in this section deprives a consumer of mandatory protections afforded by the laws applicable to that consumer.
35. Suspension and Termination
Valor may suspend or terminate access because of:
- material violation of these Terms;
- fraud;
- unlawful activity;
- security threats;
- misuse;
- nonpayment;
- attempts to compromise Platform security; or
- conduct materially threatening users or Platform integrity.
Where reasonably practicable and legally appropriate, notice will be provided.
36. Changes to These Terms
CoParent IQ may update these Terms as the Platform, technology, or law changes.
Users will receive notice of material changes as required by applicable law.
Where affirmative acceptance is legally required, users may be required to accept updated Terms before continuing to use affected functionality.
The Last Updated date identifies the most recent version.
37. Electronic Acceptance
Users consent to receive agreements, notices, disclosures, and other communications electronically where permitted by law.
Affirmatively selecting “I Agree” or another clearly identified acceptance mechanism may constitute electronic acceptance of these Terms.
CoParent IQ may maintain records showing the version of the Terms accepted, acceptance date and time, account identifier, and other appropriate audit information.
38. Severability
If any provision is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, it will be severed or limited to the extent necessary while the remaining provisions remain effective, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
39. No Waiver
Failure by Valor to immediately enforce a provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or Valor's right to enforce it later.
40. Entire Agreement
These Terms, the CoParent IQ Privacy Policy, applicable subscription disclosures, and any additional terms affirmatively accepted for specific Platform functionality constitute the applicable agreement governing use of CoParent IQ.
